  • DAPS

    Good Afternoon Everyone,

    As I enjoy my day off from work actually I have to work tonight. I feel that it’s time to give a shout-out to my friends at DAPS aka Dog and Pony Show. DAPS is a group of friends who formed a media group based on comedy. The comedy on their website (http://dogandponyshowwebsite.com/) is hysterical. It features videos,blogs,rants,raves,news articles, and who can forget Brendan Fact’s. Since DAPS is based out of Staten Island I myself can relate to a lot of the articles.

    I recently had the chance to join some of their parties located in NYC and Staten Island. The parties (usually at a bar) are awesome and the nights are endless. It’s very rare that we see bar’s have 90’s parties and all the members of DAPS fit the bill perfectly. I encourage everyone to come to one of their parties and see what DAPS is all about.

    If you ever get a chance to meet a member of DAPS in person they are probably the nicest people you will ever meet and they will thank you for coming to one of their parties.

    Please take note that all of the members of DAPS do this for FREE. Yes FREE.

  • 500 Saves

    There was something in the air last night that lead to the  strange walk Mariano Rivera drew with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning last night at Citi Field. It made the score Yankees 4, Mets 2 – the same score as it was in Flushing on Oct. 26, 2000, the fifth and final game of the World Series.

    I for one thought that Bruney was going to blow the game for the Yanks but then “The Sandman” was called into battle. His performance last night was outstanding. No other closer in baseball could of done what he did last night. I think any rinky dinky high school team can beat the Mets right now.

    K-ROD who ? K-ROD what ?

    Here are some facts and figures about Rivera’s remarkable career:

    Longest save: 59 pitches, 2 1/3 innings, Aug. 23, 1996, vs. Oakland. Mo came in to strike out Mark McGwire for the last out of the seventh, in a one-run game with the tying run at second. With two outs in the ninth, he faced McGwire again, with two on, and struck him out.

    Shortest save: 1 pitch, 1/3 inning, August 7, 2005, at Toronto. With the Yanks up by four, two out and one on, Tom Gordon issued a walk to bring up Corey Koskie and put the tying run on deck. With a save situation thus in order, Koskie flied out to left on Rivera’s only pitch.

    Most saves against: Baltimore Orioles, 57.

    Fewest saves against: Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates, 0.

    Fewest saves against (A.L. only) – Los Angeles Angels, 18.

    By innings pitched: 1/3 – 19 saves; 2/3 – 12 saves; 1 – 358 saves; 1 1/3 – 63 saves; 1 2/3 – 34 saves; 2 – 10 saves; 2 1/3 – 1 save.

    Most consecutive days with a save: 4, June 1-4, 2004 (vs. Baltimore and Texas)

    Saved both games of a doubleheader: 5 times.

    Most saves for, top 5: Andy Pettitte, 59; Mike Mussina, 49; Roger Clemens, 35; Orlando Hernandez, 32; David Wells, 25.

    Fewest saves for: 22 pitchers with 1. This is a fun list. Among others, it includes a T.J. (Beam) and a C.J. (Nitkowski); a one-game wonder (Brandon Claussen); fellow closers (Armando Benitez, Bob Wickman); a wide array of international stars (Australia’s Graeme Lloyd, Japan’s Kei Igawa, Mexico’s Esteban Loaiza and Antonio Osuna); a Princeton grad (Ross Ohlendorf); and three Mitchell Report figures (Dan Naulty, Ron Villone and Todd Williams).

    Others you may have forgotten: Mo saved 3 games for Allen Watson, and 2 each for Willie Banks, Donovan Osborne, Gabe White and Jay Witasick

    Four players with walk-off homers off Rivera: Bill Selby (2002), Bill Mueller (2004), Vernon Wells (2006), Marco Scutaro (2007)

    Three players with grand slams off Rivera: Geronimo Berroa (1995), Bobby Bonilla (1995), Bill Selby (2002)

    Only players with two career homers off Rivera: Aubrey Huff, Edgar Martinez, Rafael Palmeiro.

  • Still Waiting

    I am still waiting the iPhone App to get approve. Part of this was on my fault.

    Here is why :

    Bundle display name: App Name
    Executable file: App Name
    Icon file: icon.png
    Bundle identifier: com.companyname.appname (values are not those exactly, obviously).
    Bundle name: App Name

    Instead of this default stuff? …

    Bundle display name: ${PRODUCT_NAME}
    Executable file: ${EXECUTABLE_NAME}
    Icon file: … empty, ***???
    Bundle identifier: com.companyname.${PRODUCT_NAME}
    Bundle name: ${PRODUCT_NAME}

    Shrug. Who knew. I got an email last night stating it is still being reviewed. : Crosses Fingers :

  • iPhone App Update

    Hello Craig,

    iLineup 1 has been rejected because of a naming inconsistency. The name entered into iTunes Connect must match the name of the application installed. In order for your application to be reconsidered for the App Store, please resolve this issue and upload your new binary to iTunes Connect.

    The way to change the displayed application name in Xcode is to change the “Product Name” entry in your Target’s Build Info pane. To do this:

    1. Select your Target on the left side under Groups & Files
    2. Select File > Get Info
    3. Select the Build tab
    4. From the Configurations popup, select All Configurations
    5. In the search box, type in “product name”
    6. Double-click the entry field and type in the new name of your product, and select OK.
    7. In your Info.plist, change your Bundle Display Name and your Bundle Name appropriately.
    8. Do a clean build (Build > Clean all targets; Build > Build)

    Once these steps are completed you should see a newly built binary under the Products folder. Do not change your Bundle Identifier. This is used to uniquely identify your application in the App Store. Changing it would prevent users from upgrading, and effectively introduce a new application rather than an update.

    Change the application name in iTunes Connect, as well as any other mentions of the name in screenshots, etc.

    Should you require more assistance with resolving this issue, Apple Developer Technical Support is available to provide direct one-on-one support for discrete code-level questions.  Please be sure to include any crash logs, screenshots or steps to reproduce this issue in your request.

  • My iPhone App

    Hello Everyone

    I dedicate this first entry to my iPhone App that will be coming out shortly to the general public. The app is based on softball/baseball lineups and position lineups. I had this idea when day when heading the softball field and leaving my lineup information at my desk at work. I did a couple of Google searches and found a third party website (odesk.com) to find developers.

    I got the ball rolling pretty quickly and within a few days and 2 developers later my app was completed and submitted to the app store. I am now waiting for Apple to confirm the app and submission to be completed.

    If possible I would anyone to read this to take a look at the app and take a download of it.

    Thanks

    Craig
